Site Description
Holland is a coastal town situated on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan with sandy beaches, a downtown full of unique local shops and eateries, and an area-population of just under 100,000. At first glance, Holland might seem like just another boater’s destination, but the reality is that there is quite a bit of ethnic, financial, and religious diversity in and around our city. Park Church is a parish-oriented church committed to a missional-mindset, specifically reaching out to the varying (and vast) needs of those living within a radius around our church that we’ve come to call our “Harrington Community.” We are passionate about gathering together for worship, growing in our faith, and going out to build the Kingdom — all for God’s glory!
Participants will be hosted in our church, Park CRC, with separate multi-room sleeping quarters for guys and girls. Meals will be shared in our activity center and prepared by a group of fantastic servant-hearted cooks from our church. We will gather for morning devotions and evening worship in our Worship Center. And not to fear … every area of our church is air-conditioned!
You will spend the day at beautiful Lake Michigan. Exploring the long stretches of perfect beach sand, climbing dunes, and enjoying boat rides and tubing in the largest freshwater lake in the United States. “Pure Michigan” has become our state tagline; this day away is pure Michigan summer fun!
Get Directions
Registration fees do NOT include transportation to and from the sites. Each church group must provide vehicle(s) and adult driver(s) for the entire mission experience regardless of whether you fly or drive to the site. The vehicles you bring will be used to transport small groups to the work site each day, so 12-passenger vans or mini-vans are preferred. Cars do not facilitate the transportation of an entire small group in one vehicle, so please do not bring them. If you wish to bring a bus, please check with the Host Team to see if this is acceptable before you make arrangements. If your group is unable to provide van transportation, please have a youth leader call the ThereforeGo Ministries office to discuss options and additional charges.
